Did you know that the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) has legislated an accessible Ontario, Canada by 2025?

The Information and Communication Standard of the AODA looks to remove barriers to information in all aspects of business; accessible document creation is an integral part of this vision. As of 2025, all employers will be mandated to share information in an accessible way both internally and externally.

Jennie Grimard

Jennie Grimard is as seasoned graphic design professor in the School of Media Studies at Humber College. In addition to teaching, she also leads a small digital agency supporting small to medium size businesses. As an educator and a working designer, accessible and inclusive design are an integral part of her workflow.

Over the past year, she has worked as lead designer and project manager in the development of “Making Accessible Media” – a fully accessible, on-line course with 6 modules focused on creating accessible broadcast media. She was invited to present at the World Online Learning Conference and will be presenting at the upcoming Design Educators Conference hosted by the RGD in 2018. She is an active member of Humber’s AODA Committee and an Affiliate Member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD).
